PAST EVENTS
All of our semesters have led to one grand celebration of our members, teams, the businesses we have collaborated with, and most importantly, the hope that we can help promote childhood cancer research.
DUNK IT WITH PURPOSE
Our most recent event took place during the spring semester of 2018. It was a 3-on-3 basketball tournament organized by our members on Event Planning. Campus Advertising and Community Outreach helped promote the event around our community, and as a result, 16 teams signed up for a great shot at winning our first place prices!

The highlight of our tournament was the competitive spirits of our fellow Aggies during the half court shot competition! The grand prize totaled at more that 150 dollars.
SPIKE IT WITH PURPOSE
This was our first ever volleyball tournament!
16 teams signed up to compete for first place and a 300 dollar prize.

It was held on in December of Fall 2017. We sold our official event shirts, offered food, and gave participants a chance to win door-prize giveaways. Our second volleyball tournament will be during Spring 2020!

THE STORY BEHIND OUR FIRST EVENT
"WPCS originated from a service learning project in a public speaking course in spring of 2015. Our group of ten members coordinated a 5K, our first ever fundraiser. It was a learning experience, particularly for myself since I had never been a part of an effort like that. However, we dug in, bonded as a team, and executed a successful event.
We secured a few of our first ever sponsorships, received around 75 race signups, and raised over $1,700. Those are not dazzling numbers, but they meant something to our group. If we stick together and continue to grow as a team, then we can expand our organization and positively impact this cause. Since 2015, WPCS has grown to over 50 members, we now raise well over $2,000 per semester, and the sky is the limit for the future."
